She may be the youngest member of the family, but adorable little one-year-old Princess Charlotte is apparently the one calling the shots in her household, with mum Catherine, dad Prince William, and brother, Prince George.
At a ceremony yesterday to honour those who contributed to the war in Afghanistan, and to unveil a new memorial in commemoration, the Duchess revealed the inner workings of the Cambridge household. Following the ceremony, the royal family headed to chat with the families of those in the forces, where Catherine spoke to one mum, Samantha Burge, wife of Warrant Officer Class 2 Chris Burge, about her young family.
Samantha revealed that Catherine told her just how in control little baby Charlotte is, saying “Kate said that Charlotte is growing up really fast.” She went on to reveal that the Duchess admitted, “She is the one in charge.”
She also mentioned that the Princess is most definitely in control at the Cambridge household, “We have both got (almost) two-year-olds and they are ruling the roost. It was a bit of a mummy chat.”
Samantha later revealed that Catherine admitted that, despite the youngest royals bossiness, she still gets along well with her older brother, Prince George. She said that the siblings are becoming “very good friends” – awww.
The little Princess is set to turn two years old very soon, on 2nd May – so perhaps the terrible two’s will well and truly set in then? Let’s hope not!
Catherine was joined at the ceremony by the rest of the royal family, including Prince William and Prince Harry, and picked a classic and sophisticated outfit for the event, and even showed off her more thrifty side by sporting a blue Michael Kors coat she’s previously been spotted in twice before, back in May 2016 and April 2014. However, the Duke and Duchess’ children were no where in sght at the event.
It’s also unclear whether the two smallest royals will join their parents on their upcoming royal tours. The Duke and Duchess are due to visit Paris on 17th March for a two-day stay, where they will meet the families of victims of the attack at the Bataclan in Paris two years ago, and those affected by the 2016 Nice rampage, which killed 86 people.
The couple will also head to Poland and Germany in July for a political visit, and reports have not yet confirmed whether or not George and Charlotte will join their parents there either.
