Royal tests Meghan has to pass to marry Harry
Her wedding day may be just a little over a month away, but Meghan Markle still has two ceremonies to go through before she marries Prince Harry.
The 36-year-old actress, who is due to marry Prince Harry on May 19th at St George’s Chapel, will have to be baptised and confirmed before she can walk down the aisle.
According to reports, the former Suits star will spend the next month immersing herself in the religious traditions of the Church of England.
Meghan was brought up a Christian, however due to the fact that she’s marrying the grandson of the Head of the Church of England, she is being baptised and confirmed into the faith.
The American actress can either choose to have water trickled down her forehead when she is baptised or be fully immersed in a bath of water.
It’s thought that Meghan will have the ceremony in private, with just a small number of people in attendance.
This isn’t the first time a future royal bride has had to go through religious ceremonies before she marries into the family.
In 2011, Kate Middleton was confirmed in front of the Middleton family and Prince William.
As for Meghan, her religion isn’t the only thing she has to change before she marries Prince Harry.
She can wave goodbye to people addressing her by her name, as after she becomes a royal, she’ll either be known as ‘Ma’am’ or the Duchess of Sussex, which is the title the Queen is expected to bestow upon the bride on the day.
The 36-year-old has also had to quit her role as Rachel Zane on her hit show, Suits, so she could move to London to be with Prince Harry.
She left behind her beloved mother in LA and one of her precious dogs.
