Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall may be a member of the British royal family, but she’s more like the French when it comes to her appreciation of wine. Camilla, who is the president of the U.K.’s Vineyard Association, shed some light on the reason behind her interest in the industry during a reception for British winegrowers at Clarence House on Wednesday. “People always ask me how I became involved in it all, well first of all I love wine, but secondly, my father was in the wine business, so I was brought up as a child drinking wine and water rather like the French,” she said. “My grandfather also wrote about wine as did my great-grandfather, so I think it’s very much in my blood and it’s so exciting to see British wine taking off,” she added. It’s Christmastime at Clarence House! ​ Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, got in the holiday spirit on Wednesday when she welcomed a group of children from Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, an organization working to improve the lives of seriously ill kids in the U.K. The royal wore a Christmas-ready green dress for the occasion, coordinating perfectly with the tree’s red-and-white decorations and garland. The guests of honor had the chance to hang ornaments and string garland on the tree at Clarence House and have lunch with Camilla at her London home. The afternoon was also hosted in part by Helen & Douglas House, a children’s hospice for which Camilla serves as patron. PRINCE Harry was invited to recall childhood holidays in the Caribbean with his mother Princess Diana when he was welcomed to the island nation of Antigua and Barbuda tonight. Ascot Michael, the country’s tourism minister, reminded Harry that he and his brother Prince William were brought to Barbuda by their mother for  holidays. "We are truly pleased to welcome you back to a place of childhood memories, your home in the Caribbean,” he said. Harry, 32,  will visit Barbuda later this week, but it is understood that his programme will not allow him time to visit the places where he stayed with his mother. Exciting news, royal fans! Clarence House, the official London residence of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, has opened to the public for a limited period of time. From 1 – 31 August, visitors will be able to step inside the historic house, and enjoy a guided tour of five ground-floor rooms. Clarence House was built between 1825 and 1827, and it is steeped in royal history. It was home to the Queen Mother for nearly 50 years, between 1953 and 2002, and has also served as the official residence for Prince William, from 2003 until his 2011 marriage, and for Prince Harry from 2003 until 2012.
